In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and school closures, DASH compiled a collection of resources to support student and staff well-being while students learned from a distance. As schools across the province return to in-class instruction this September we wanted to let you know that many of the Healthy at Home resources can be used in the classroom too. Here are a few of our favourites:
Family Food Story Cookbook: Get to know the students in your class as they learn more about their own family history using the Family Food Story Cookbook activity and associated lesson plan.
Mood Meter: Students may be feeling excited, nervous, anxious, or happy. Develop a daily practice of checking in with how everyone is feeling using the Mood Meter.
Sense Walk: A great activity to get younger students outdoors and support their mental and physical well-being as they take notice of their school environment in new ways.
Social Distancing Games: Get ideas for fun ways to get students active while staying socially distanced.
